Beaumont District Redevelopment Plan.
TYPE: COMMUNITY MASTER PLAN
PROGRAM: MULTI-FAMILY, CLASS-A OFFICE, HOTEL, OPEN SPACE
AREA: 23 ACRES
STATUS: COMPLETE
Dencityworks was invited by Skyview Companies to participate in the Beaumont District Redevelopment Plan in Kissimmee, Fl. Utilizing form-based zoning heirarchies to reintegrate the project site back to the city street fabric, the proposal addresses community needs for housing and open space, while providing the opportunity to incorporate sustainable building and planning mechanisms to meet the needs of further thinking planning.
The proposed land use transitions from lower density on the periphery to higher density uses in the Masterplan core. The latter is arranged around a multi-use open space that could seasonally transform into a public park or a children’s playground or a maker’s market. The site has adjacency & synergies with the medical arts district on the north and pedestrian & traffic connectivity to downtown transit area to the south-east. The Masterplan places higher density development in the eastern portion of the site addressing visibility & access from major street intersection & in response to denser massing of the downtown area. The reminder is a respectful transition & proximity to low density residential neighborhood on the south & west.
The development team has been officially selected by the City of Kissimmee, Florida.
